Membership Manager for Lower South Island

Jim has been involved directly in the transport industry since early 1990 when he purchased a one truck freight business following an apprenticeship and several years in the motor industry working with cars, trucks, and tractors. He brings broad experience as a freight business owner and manager, along with strong practical knowledge in areas such as vehicle compliance and permitting for HPMV vehicles.

Over the years, Jim has developed a reputation for understanding the day-to-day realities of transport operators and the wider supply chain, particularly in the livestock sector. Based in Mid-Canterbury, Jim lives on a 40-acre block where he fattens beef cattle and, alongside his wife Jennifer, helps run an Airbnb.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys clay bird and duck shooting and staying connected to the rural community.
